Books by John Hobbs
About the Author
Dr. John Hobbs is the nephew of A. G. Hobbs. John’s father served as an elder along with two of his uncles. John’s aunt is Lottie Beth Hobbs who has written several religious books. John is a conservative Christian writer like his uncle A. G. John believes that the Bible is the authoritative word of God (John 12:48; Rev. 20:12; Matt. 4:4; 1 Cor. 4:6). Without apology John writes with a strong emphasis on Scripture.
Stand Fast – $14.95
Serious Problems Facing Churches of Christ
Stand Fast is designed to encourage brethren to stand fast and hold firmly to the truths of Christianity. Paul wrote, “Stand fast in the faith” (1 Cor. 16:13). He also said, “Stand fast, and hold the teachings which ye were taught, whether by word, or by epistle of ours” (2 Thess. 2:15). The Churches of Christ are confronted today with very serious problems that must be met with Scripture.

God Is The Real 9-1-1 – $14.95
Today in America if we have a serious problem, we call 9-1-1.
However, if we have a problem too big for the EMT’s, what do we do? We call on God Almighty!
Psalms 91:1 is the real 9-1-1.
Psalms 91:1 states, “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” The thrust of this passage and Psalm 91 is the security of the one who trusts in Jehovah God.
This book focuses on God’s nature, character, essence, attributes, and the protection and security He provides for His people. With questions at the end of each chapter, this book is designed for class study.

More Precious Than Gold – $14.95
The purpose of this book is to understand that the proving, trying, and testing of our faith is truly “more precious than gold that perisheth” (1 Pet. 1:7). Lottie Beth Hobbs wrote, “We should not pray for those experiences which make us comfortable but for those which make us strong, and there can be no strength without trial nor true wisdom without adverse experience.” The finest steel undergoes tremendous heat and pounding in order to be useful. It has been said, “The strongest oaks grow where the strongest winds blow,” and “The turbulence of the sea produces the best sailors.”

God’s Eternal Plan – $14.95
Basic Information Before Leaving Earth
Someone gave the Bible this acrostic: Basic Instruction Before Leaving Earth. How true! God’s word is not a musty historical record far removed from us. It includes you and me, being just as relevant as ever, portraying our origin, purpose, problems, privileges, duties, and eternal destiny. This brief study is a bird’s-eye view of God’s redemptive plan from Genesis to Revelation.

Christian Ethics – $14.95
If the life of Jesus is not our pattern, the death of Jesus will not be our pardon
Christian Ethics is “the study of standards of conduct and moral judgment from a Christian perspective.” It is clearly evident that ethics is an integral part of the biblical revelation. The dominant ethical appeal in the Bible is for the people of God to be like Him (Lev. 19:2; 1 Peter 1:15-16). The New Testament teaches Christians are to follow the steps of Jesus (1 Pet. 2:21) and walk as He walked (1 John 2:6). Christians are “to walk worthily” of the Lord (Eph. 4:1; Col. 1:10;1 Thess. 2:12).\
This book deals with important spiritual concepts that are relevant to our contemporary times. Admittedly, the topics selected were determined by the personal choice of the author.

Ask For The Old Paths – $14.95
A Call for God’s People to Return to God’s Word
Stand ye in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way; and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls: but they said, We will not walk therein.” Today, Christians must come to God in reverent, humble obedience and ask for the right way.
This book is a call for Churches of Christ to follow the truth in God’s word. We should not be led by what appeals to people or what seems invigorating. We have “change-agents” in our brotherhood that want to change the worship and theology of the Church. They say if we don’t change, we will die. But, should we be led by the directives of God Almighty or these “change-agents?”
Dr. John Hobbs believes in the authoritative word of God (John 12:48; Rev. 20:12; Rom. 2:2). He firmly rejects the designs of those who want to allow false doctrine and ungodly practices come into the Church of Christ.. Dr. Hobbs answers these “change-agents” with Scripture, history, and insights from wise men. Solomon said, “Walk with wise men, and thou shalt be wise” (Prov. 13:20). We must “ask for the old paths, where is the good way; and walk therein.” If we do, God will bless us and we will find rest for our souls!
